- ➤ The city and nonprofits have launched the Pathways to Homeownership Initiative to build 30 pre-built homes in the Hope Zone near Fairview Elementary School, with two completed on McCleary Avenue. - ➤ Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first Dayton region location on Dec. 12 at a Beavercreek site across from The Mall at Fairfield Commons, serving Nashville-style hot chicken with seven spice levels and sides (fries, shakes, and more) to a supportive crowd, and the chain plans to expand soon.
