- ➤ CFD Research— a Beavercreek defense contractor— bought its Executive Drive building for $2.1 million, according to Greene County property records. The 10,000-square-foot facility will serve as its Midwest Research & Development and Operations Center. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Crowds filled Courthouse Square on November 29th for Dayton’s Grande Illumination—organizers said the event’s light shows united residents for a festive evening. WHIO-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ High school football semifinal wins set the stage for championship matchups as teams like St. Xavier, Olentangy Orange, Anderson, and Avon advanced. The championship games will be held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton on Dec. 4, Dec. 5, and Dec. 6 — with specific times and divisions scheduled for each contest. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ The University of Dayton men’s basketball team battled No. 9 BYU Friday night in Orlando but lost 83-79 after key plays from Javon Bennett and Bryce Heard — the Flyers now stand at 6-2. They will host ETSU on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. WHIO-TV
- ➤ The Dayton Flyers blew a 14-point lead in the final six minutes of the second half but rallied in overtime to beat Georgetown 84-79 at the ESPN Events Invitational at State Farm Field House in Kissimmee, Fla. The win gave Dayton its first tournament defeat of Georgetown and moved the team to 9-1—setting up their championship game against BYU on Friday at 9:30 p.m. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ Ohio high school football playoff games aired Friday night and fourteen replays are now available on Spectrum News 1 and its mobile app. The replays feature state semifinal matchups, including Olentangy Orange versus St. Edward (Northern Ohio Division I, Region 1) and a Dayton contest at Welcome Stadium. - ➤ Middletown High School's historic football season ended Friday night at Welcome Stadium when St. Xavier won 21-6 in the state semifinal.
