- ➤ Veterans Day weekend celebrations kicked off in Miami Valley as the Dayton VA parade drew 40 floats featuring veteran resources and local high school ROTCs, and local veteran William Thompson said he appreciated the patriotic support. In Clark County, the Heritage Center unveiled a new exhibit honoring Springfield Navy veteran George Neal—he served in the Korean War rescuing downed pilots and is later being honored with a Guided Missile Destroyer named for him. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said it will begin sending full November SNAP benefits next week once guidance arrives from the USDA—recipients who missed October payments will receive their full amount. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ The University of Dayton men’s basketball team survived an upset bid from UMBC with a 77-71 win at UD Arena on Saturday as senior guard Javon Bennett scored 16 points and all five starters scored in double figures. They will play Cincinnati Tuesday at Fifth Third Arena. WHIO-TV
- ➤ The Dayton Flyers defeated UMBC 77-71 at UD Arena on Saturday with 13,407 fans watching the team build their win through strong teamwork — every player played a role before UMBC made a late push. The Flyers will face Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. Flyer News
