- ➤ Wright-Patterson civilian workers received a second furlough notice sent Friday that went into effect on or after Oct. 1 amid a long government shutdown. The notice said furloughs will last no more than 30 days—workers must return when a continuing resolution or appropriation is approved. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ Governor DeWine, Senate President McColley and House Speaker Huffman announced an executive order to allocate $25 million for Ohio food banks and emergency aid to over 63,000 low-income Ohioans who may lose SNAP benefits. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services will move $7 million to food banks today and nearly double the benefits for Ohio Works First recipients by November 7—pending action from federal lawmakers.
