- ➤ Tribute coverage revisits three final interviews with acclaimed crime writer Thomas Perry, whose novels Murder Book, Hero and Pro Bono were discussed by Book Nook host Vick Mickunas before he died on Sept. 15 at age 78—his work left a lasting mark on Dayton’s literary scene. WYSO
- ➤ Archeologists from Ohio Valley Archeology have uncovered an 1817 50 cent coin, prehistoric Native American artifacts, bone forks, and a painted ceramic piece under the surviving floorboards of Overfield Tavern after a December fire. The tavern is in its second phase of reconstruction and will use a historic structure report and a fundraiser on October 18—its rebuild is set to cost about $1 million and finish by 2027.
