- ➤ Augusta Sportswear, Inc. in Sidney will close its distribution center on January 30, 2026, laying off 58 workers in one move. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Dayton-area electric utility AES Ohio told state regulators on Friday it will file an application next month for a multi-year reliability plan that sets new rates for 2027, 2028, and 2029. - ➤ Hundreds of Dayton Public sophomores attended a job fair at the downtown Dayton Convention Center where Montgomery County commissioners—Carolyn Rice and Mary McDonald—encouraged students to explore local county jobs and services. - ➤ Wright State University’s Alumni Association has launched its PACK mentorship program to match experienced alumni with new students and help ease their transition to college—alumni and students are paired by major and geography. - ➤ Seven of the area’s largest health systems and colleges teamed up to launch a mental health program for students who do not fit child or adult care—this effort will begin accepting applications Oct. 20. The program, managed by Kettering Health at its Behavioral Medical Center on Lamme Road in Moraine, offers referrals from community mental health agencies and university counseling centers.
