  • Shares of Dayton-bound Joby Aviation fell in premarket trading after the company announced it would sell 30.5 million shares at $16.85 to raise about $514 million for certification and manufacturing plans near the airport—this drop added to Tuesday’s decline of 3.37 percent.   • Azul Agave opened today at 1238 E. Central Ave in Miamisburg — the restaurant, owned by Rosales and Hugo Sanchez who brings 28 years of experience, serves Mexican food and seats up to 80 guests. It offers dine-in, carryout and delivery and plans to add a bar soon.  Dayton Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Wednesday issued an executive order that stops retailers from selling intoxicating hemp products starting Oct.14—lasting 30 days. He said the order follows hundreds of reports to Ohio Poison Control about teen poisonings—giving state officials power to seize products and fine retailers $500 per day if the items remain on shelves.  Dayton Daily News
  • Businesses near Wright-Patterson AFB see fewer customers as the government shutdown cuts the number of base workers — many are working without pay while local shops await backpay and extra help. Entrepreneurs’ Center president Scott Koorndyk said the drop in staff is hurting restaurants and stores until the shutdown ends.  Dayton 24/7 Now
  • On Nov. 4, local voters will decide on several school tax measures that include emergency levy renewals in Beavercreek City School District, Milton Union Schools, and Troy City Schools District—each proposal affecting property tax rates. The ballot also asks voters to consider a substitute levy in Northwestern Local School District and a Clark Shawnee Local income tax measure that would add a 1% earned income tax to cover current expenses.  Dayton Daily News
