Dayton Daily News has partnered with local coffee roaster Twisted River to offer a 10% discount on online purchases for readers—available for one use—and to bring quality, hometown coffee to local cafes.

Jefferson Twp. Schools is asking for a three-year, 1% income tax to generate nearly $1M a year for regular expenses since the district has faced eight years of deficit spending and risks state takeover if the levy does not pass.
The district cut staff after a May vote on a higher tax failed, leaving it with a budget of about $8.3M last school year and a projected $8.5M this year — prompting the push for additional revenue.
Dayton voters will choose on the November ballot whether to add a 1-mill tax levy called Issue 9 that is expected to raise about $2M over 10 years to help build a public hospital in West Dayton.
Supporters say the funds will pay for design work and planning—while critics argue the money is too small to cover the high costs of a modern hospital.
