- ➤ The City of Dayton is renovating Kettering Field to add new sports areas — a football field, irrigated soccer fields, pickle ball courts and a softball field with artificial turf — and to honor Dayton’s first airfield. Construction will finish next August. Dayton 24/7 Now
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ PSA Airlines announced it will begin layoffs on Oct. 29—staff who did not relocate to Charlotte will be permanently let go. The airline expects about 157 Dayton-based employees to be impacted with additional phases planned through April 29. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Joby Aviation completed its first autonomous flight demonstration yesterday—using its Superpilot technology on a Cessna Caravan 208 to log over 7,000 miles during an Air Force exercise managed from Guam. The company, which is building a manufacturing facility near Dayton International Airport, said the test proved the system's precision in real-world scenarios. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ PSA Airlines will lay off 157 employees at 3400 Terminal Drive starting October 29 for those not moving with the company as it shifts its headquarters to Charlotte—where most departures and trainings are based. Additional layoffs are expected on Dec. 29 this year, and on Jan. 29, Feb. 10, Feb. 18, April 29, and Nov. 29 in 2026 with another round on April 29 in 2027. Dayton Daily News
