- ➤ On Saturday morning, over 800 volunteers from Fairhaven Church's four campuses gathered in Beavercreek to serve the community—packing meals for families in Guatemala through the Hope Factory Initiative and building 150 beds for local children through a Sleep in Heavenly Peace partnership. - ➤ The family of Brandon Bark is hosting the 9th annual Barkstrong Golf Outing to raise funds for 4 Paws for Ability—an organization that provides service dogs to veterans in Xenia. The event has raised over $115,000 so far, and donations continue year-round. Dayton 24/7 Now

- ➤ A shooting near the local bar Reserve on Third on the 500 block of East Third Street injured two people who were taken to the hospital after a call reported the incident around 12:50 a.m.—the investigation is ongoing. Dayton 24/7 Now

- ➤ 101-year-old WWII veteran John Preklas flew in a B-25 bomber over Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the University of Dayton campus before returning to the Champaign Aviation Museum, funded by the National Aviation Heritage Area. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A study by Shirazi Law Firm found that Ohio ranked third in wage theft violations with 919.33 violations per 100K residents—causing 109,247 violations that affected 31,727 workers. Employers have already agreed to pay more than $14 million in back wages to nearly 28,000 employees after the state passed the Pay Stub Protection Act in April. WHIO-TV

- ➤ USPS worker Sydney Billingsley was honored with a mayor's proclamation after saving a man's life on her June mail route when she heard him calling for help, and the city recognized her brave act. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Riverside received a $95K grant from HUD to boost neighborhood clean-up and housing opportunities. City officials said the city will use $35K on demolition projects — in Valley Plat, Byesville, and Huberville by Dec. 31 — and the remaining $60K for housing rehabilitation — partnering with the Community Investment Corporation — to improve local neighborhoods.
