- ➤ Six years after the mass shooting in Oregon District that killed nine and injured dozens on Aug. 4, 2019, community members have held vigils and created memorials while Dion Greene—whose father died that night—is working with Job Core to build the Fudge Foundation Resource Center for mentorship and social services. - ➤ Pediatricians and public health leaders said Monday that access to routine childhood vaccinations may be delayed as the school year approaches—Dr. Lauren Smith stressed that keeping to the schedule is important. Dayton 24/7 Now
- ➤ Authorities recalled 64,800 pounds of butter after tests found that milk was not declared on the label. The recall was issued on August 04 following concerns over proper ingredient disclosure. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Dayton Children's Hospital's 'Do More So All Kids Thrive' campaign raised $85 million and allocated more than half for improving mental health for children. More than $51 million plus $25 million from ARPA will improve inpatient care at the Mathile Center starting Aug. 13 and expand therapy while funds also build an urgent care clinic in West Dayton scheduled for summer 2026.
