  • Less than a week after closing its downtown location, Mudlick Tap House will open its new Centerville home at 110 W. Franklin St on July 31—owners pushed the opening from July 29 to make final adjustments and will host weekly events benefiting local nonprofits.  WDTN
  • Mudlick Tap House will hold a soft opening in its new Centerville space at 110 W Franklin Street on July 31 after a short delay for final adjustments—events during the three-week period will support three local nonprofit groups. CRIME NEWS

  • Nine French bulldog puppies were stolen from an Ohio home and police are investigating the theft—requesting anyone with information to come forward.  WHIO-TV
  • Dayton authorities indicted 27-year-old Damarez Jones after he allegedly shot his uncle, Paul Body, during a car ride when an argument broke out—he faces multiple charges, remains in jail on a $1 million bond, and is set to be arraigned on July 29.  Dayton 24/7 Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • Day Air Ballpark will host the 'Deck the Diamond' holiday lights experience starting November 14 and running nightly from 6–9 p.m. until January 3 — the event will feature over 1.1 million lights, synchronized music and light shows every 10 minutes, and activities for families including rides on the North Pole Express.  Dayton Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dayton Public Schools is changing its pay schedule so teachers and staff will be paid on Aug. 29 instead of Aug. 15 for the 2025-2026 school year. Some union leaders said they were not informed of the change and worry the delay will cause financial hardship—though the district is offering a work-from-home option to help ease the transition.  Dayton Daily News

  • Dayton Municipal Court and the Clerk of Court’s Office will offer a 50% discount on eligible fines and fees from August 4th to August 15th as people settle court debts online or in person (certain charges such as OVI fees, parking tickets, filing fees, and probation costs are not included).  WHIO-TV
