- ➤ Three restaurant changes are underway on Brown Street near the University of Dayton as El Rancho Grande closed after 10 years and its space will become Don Juan Mexican Grill & Cantina—while the former Pita Pit location will soon host Wat Da Pho Express, and the site of The Wizard of Za now houses Prime BBQ Smokehouse with plans for a second location later this year. - ➤ Ohio officials announced that Dayton International Airport will receive $78,750,000 from the All Ohio Future Fund to upgrade its Defense and Aerospace Campus with new hangars, a rebuilt apron, and improved taxiways and roads. The upgrades are expected to boost local economic development and prepare the airport for future projects — the funds are managed by the Ohio Department of Development. WDTN
- ➤ State officials approved about $78.8 million in funding to redevelop Dayton International Airport by building a new taxiway, renovating aprons, and upgrading access roads to help attract aerospace and defense businesses—efforts that will boost the airport's capacity for additional hangars. - ➤ A new alternative school for students facing behavioral challenges and suspension will open this fall at Jackson Center on Dayton’s West side — the building at 329 Abbey Ave is receiving repairs to improve safety and establish a cafeteria while DPS adds School AI to support learning. Ponitz Career Tech Center principal Lolita Christian will lead the center as students attend for five to 10 days and are not allowed to play sports during that time. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ The Miami Valley Conservancy District was created after the 1913 flood that sent water 20 feet high in Dayton and has kept our community safe with five dams, levees, and storage basins that stored flood water more than 2,100 times.
