  • A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash with a vehicle on Spinning Road by Bayside Drive early Sunday morning—he was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and the accident is under investigation.  WDTN
  • Firefighters responded to an apartment fire in Dayton after they saw smoke and flames coming from the building — they fought the fire to secure the scene.  WHIO-TV

  • Hartford Bakery Inc. voluntarily recalled six lots of Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf sold at Kroger and Walmart in 12 states, including Ohio, after inspectors found undeclared hazelnuts in approximately 883 loaves—customers with nut allergies are urged to return the products for a full refund.  Dayton 24/7 Now

  • Centerville Police are asking Dayton residents for help finding missing teen Samantha Carmack (17) who was last seen early July 13 and may have met with another missing teen driving a blue 2006 Jaguar sedan with Pennsylvania plates.  WDTN
  • Police are investigating a shooting reported near the busy intersection of N Gettysburg Avenue and Hoover Avenue around 10:55 p.m.  WHIO-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • In mid-June, Judge Jaiza Page ruled Ohio’s EdChoice voucher program unconstitutional—yet issued an immediate stay so vouchers will remain available for the 2025-26 school year. Attorney General Dave Yost said he plans to appeal the decision while education advocates await further court review.  Dayton Daily News
