  • On Wednesday, nearly 7,000 visitors enjoyed the 173rd Montgomery County Fair with fun booths and projects for kids, while organizers reported that tonight will feature full time wrestling, demolition derby is planned for Friday, and the rodeo will take place Saturday with the fair ending from noon to 10 p.m.  Dayton 24/7 Now

ECONOMY NEWS

  • JobsOhio finished a deal to give a record $310 million grant to Anduril Industries for a new plant in Pickaway County near Rickenbacker International Airport — the project will add 4,008 jobs and more than $530 million in wages over the next decade.   • Valley View Local School District started demolishing its former Germantown Primary School — a building over 70 years old — after moving into a new K-12 campus last school year. The district also began taking down its over 100-year-old Farmersville Elementary while repurposing its former high school and intermediate buildings.  WDTN

  • Centerville has launched an AI program on recycling trucks that scans bin contents—if items do not meet guidelines the public works department will send a postcard to educate residents. City officials say the system will help reduce contamination and lower processing costs.  WHIO-TV
  • Residents in Dayton have petitioned for a new public hospital in West Dayton and gathered 1,284 signatures to support a proposal for a 1 millage property tax levy that will raise 2 million dollars each year for 10 years — city officials and a legal expert have raised concerns about financial feasibility and disclosure issues — with a review decision expected by July 25.  Dayton 24/7 Now
  • Huber Heights Mayor Jeff Gore told WYSO on July 9th that the council and administration share a clear vision for growth—focusing on attracting more businesses and adding full-service restaurants to boost the tax base.
