- ➤ Cortney Tavion Lowe, 34, was sentenced to 25 years to life after he reportedly beat a husband and wife to death with a sledgehammer last year—he is now on Ohio’s Violent Offender Registry following charges of murder and felonious assault. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ A Kentucky man, Adam Anderson, was charged after he kidnapped a toddler and punched his former girlfriend at Big Daddy’s Drive Thru on East Third Street in Dayton—police later found him and the child safe at Sammy’s Market on Woodman Drive and he faces charges including aggravated robbery, felonious assault, abduction and domestic violence. - ➤ Montgomery County Clerk of Courts pleaded no contest to charges for unauthorized computer use and for asking for campaign contributions and was sentenced to a 12-month suspended jail term, 40 hours of community service, 24 months of community control plus $3,500 in fines. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ Dayton resident Vincent Nzigiyimfura, 65, a Rwandan businessman and butcher allegedly involved in the 1994 genocide—where he is accused of orchestrating killings by setting up roadblocks and transporting weapons—is indicted for allegedly falsifying documents to hide his role and mislead immigration officials.
