- ➤ Joby Aviation repainted its old postal service building near Dayton International Airport with a new logo as it plans to start making parts for its electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles this year — no one was seen inside the building during business hours Tuesday while progress remains under review. - ➤ Melissa Hutchins, a 51-year-old from Dayton, fled a traffic stop on May 20th, 2024, then led a high-speed chase on I-75 near St. Rt. 49 that ended with the fatal crash of 35-year-old Colby Ross; on June 11th she was sentenced to 15 to 20½ years in prison—along with fines for funeral and burial expenses. - ➤ Deputies in Montgomery County are searching for a man wanted on multiple felony warrants—he was last seen in the area and authorities say his location remains unknown. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Two men have been charged after a high-speed chase along I-75 last Thursday that began when James Collins fled a Perry Township traffic stop while Thomas Downey rode in the pickup's bed - the pursuit led to a crash causing a six-vehicle pileup and one person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ An audit by the Ohio Auditor of State’s office found that three former Yellow Springs workers owed $19,512.40 in penalties from 2023 due to late or wrong tax filings, with Village Manager Josue Salmeron paying $156.95 and Finance Director Amy Kemper paying $136.13 while Finance Director Matt Dillon still owes $19,219.32. - ➤ Congressman Mike Turner announced that $1,812,000 has been awarded to Dayton International Airport through the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program—funds that will refurbish taxiway lighting and repair sections of the taxiway. An additional $462,560 will go to Greene County Lewis A. Jackson Regional Airport to reseal the terminal and tiedown apron. WDTN
