- ➤ The Humane Society of Greater Dayton held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 20 at its new Dayton Humane & Co. Resale Boutique in Centerville. The grand opening event ran from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 24 and proceeds from sales supported the society's animal care mission for over 10,000 animals each year. WDTN

- ➤ A vacant house on Todd Street burned early Saturday around 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block—fire crews said the suspicious blaze left the property a total loss with no injuries and demolition may follow. WDTN

- ➤ A new upscale resale shop called Dayton Humane & Co. A Resale Boutique opened on Saturday at the Cross Point Shopping Center on E. Alex Bell Road in Centerville with all profits going to support the Humane Society of Greater Dayton's animal rescue, cruelty investigations, spay and neuter services, veterinary care and community outreach programs. The shop is open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and it accepts donations Tuesday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. WHIO-TV

- ➤ A man was shot in Dayton Saturday afternoon near the 2200 block of Rugby Road at about 2:09 p.m.—crews responded after 911 received a call reporting the incident. Dayton Daily News
