- ➤ United Alloy announced that its new Union facility is expanding to add 250 jobs to over 400 positions at a plant that makes data center fuel tanks and engine room exhaust plenums. The company is investing $48 million and enlarging the site to 532,000 square feet— and will host a job fair on June 10 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 1925 Union Airpark Blvd. Dayton Daily News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Huber Heights voters rejected the extra school levy on May 6 by a margin of 4 votes, with 2,725 for and 2,729 against, which means the school board’s plan to make $7.3 million in cuts—including cutting over 20 positions—will take effect if the recount confirms the results. A recount will be held June 5 at the Montgomery County Board of Elections Office—official checks on 35 extra absentee, provisional, and curbside votes are expected then. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Residents at Biltmore Towers worry as work crews installed an 8-foot metal fence outside the affordable housing community ahead of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in downtown Dayton—limiting access to rides and medical appointments. - ➤ Ohio is spending millions to protect the community during the Spring 2025 NATO Parliamentary Assembly today — the event runs through Memorial Day in downtown Dayton. Officials say extra patrols and heightened measures will be in place across the 0.5-mile downtown area. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Downtown Dayton was transformed in the past 24 hours for a NATO assembly that brought secure zones, road closures and new electronic signboards to warn drivers—while pedestrians continue to navigate the area with temporary detours.
