ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Early Sunday morning, an apartment fire on the 900 block of Stewville Drive in Vandalia caused heavy flames and Mark Peeples helped his scared neighbor jump from the window to avoid harm, which left two people hurt and 13 people (six children) displaced.  WHIO-TV
  • A 25-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash in Dayton on May 18th and police are investigating the incident.  WHIO-TV
  • A crash on Urbana Road near Eagle City Road killed a 36-year-old pedestrian when a red Silverado driven by a 50-year-old lost its lane and struck him next to a stationary Chevrolet Aveo — medics treated the Silverado driver for minor injuries while investigators probe the accident.  WDTN
  • After midnight, Vandalia fire crews responded to a fire at a multi-family home on Stewville Drive and evacuated 13 residents while one person remained in serious condition + the American Red Cross is aiding evacuees and investigators are working to determine the cause.  Dayton 24/7 Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dayton Police began setting up a security perimeter on Monday and will install fences and concrete barriers as road closures and transit route changes take effect Tuesday ahead of the NATO Village assembly on Thursday — officials say drivers and pedestrians may face five-minute delays. The city has arranged detours and set up a protest area near Second and Jefferson to help manage the event.  Dayton 24/7 Now
