Good morning, Dayton.

A Dayton 6th grade class at Dayton Regional STEM School is working with Five Rivers MetroParks to propose improvements for Cox Arboretum wetlands (a key local habitat) to restore native species.

The project teaches STEM principles and encourages families to help preserve the environment.

Overnight storms on May 17 left 7,200 customers without power across several counties, with Montgomery County experiencing 6,830 outages and restoration efforts still underway.

Transportation crews are executing multiple road projects across the region, which will cause lane & ramp closures on I-75, U.S. 35, and U.S. 68 starting April 26 through summer 2026.

Drivers should allow extra time & follow posted detour signs.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is holding an emergency management exercise today through Friday, May 22 to test response to active shooter and anti-terrorism drills—base personnel and local services have been notified to expect minor delays.
