- ➤ The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is pausing new dog cruelty and neglect cases from the county dog warden because Avery’s Law shifted responsibilities and left them with only two part-time agents. They will direct these cases to law enforcement until a sustainable system is set up. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Bishop Richard E. Cox, a community activist and civil rights leader, passed away at 77 on Saturday, May 2. City leaders, including Mayor Shenise Turner-Sloss and Dr. Derrick Foward, remembered him as a warrior (a dedicated mentor) who championed a new hospital for West Dayton. WHIO-TV
