- ➤ The new Innovation Business Resource Opportunity Center in Dayton will connect groups that help small business owners and is set to launch early summer with $2.4 million in grant funds from the Dayton Recovery Plan. Operated by the Entrepreneurs’ Center—partnering with the Miami Valley Urban League—the center will offer tools, training and support to help historically underserved entrepreneurs access funding and mentorship. - ➤ Accelevation recently moved into a new Dayton area facility to meet growing demand for its data center solutions and plans to expand into a larger site in about a year. CEO Michael Rubiera said the company added 100 employees this quarter and aims to double its workforce to around 1,000—supporting its goal of creating strong manufacturing jobs in Ohio. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio told AEP Ohio customers to review their bills since a new pricing plan will raise rates by nearly 2 cents per kilowatt hour—making the cost 9.97 cents if you do not use a government aggregation program or switch to a competitive supplier. - ➤ Destination Dayton reported that First Four brought a $6,631,875 boost in direct spending that showed Dayton’s strong economic benefits. President and CEO Jacquelyn Y. Powell said the event’s success is due to efforts by the University of Dayton, local fans, and volunteers — and the city will continue hosting it through 2028. WDTN

- ➤ Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine (at the Nutter Center) will hold its commencement ceremony tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. to graduate 129 medical students (many of whom will begin residency training locally and nationwide). Wright State University

- ➤ Montgomery County will use new polling sites for the May 6 primary after a recent fire at one site and the closure of another. Affected voters will receive a postcard with their new location details and all sites will open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day — many moves shift precincts to local churches, schools, and community centers.
