- ➤ Young's Jersey Dairy hosted its 42nd annual Egg Hunt using plastic eggs for the first time — due to an egg shortage — and donated the cost difference to Second Harvest in Springfield and Dayton Foodbank. - ➤ A 2-year-old child was struck by a vehicle Saturday on Kingsbury Drive in Huber Heights when the child ran from a parked car—police said the child was alert after impact but was taken to a local hospital for examination. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Dayton police responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment complex on the 500 block of Scranton Street around 1:47 p.m., April 20th, and they are investigating the incident as witnesses provide information. WHIO-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Mike DeWine expanded his order after flags at the statehouse were already at half-staff, ordering U.S. and Ohio flags in Wayne County to fly at half-staff in honor of Town and Country Fire District Lt. Paul Mickolick. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of his funeral—continuing a tribute that began for Tri-Community firefighter John Saunders. WDTN
- ➤ Dayton police increased drone use in 2024 by using their 16 drones for searches, rescue missions and tactical decisions—recording 370 operations compared to 11 in 2023—and expanded downtown camera coverage with 17 new Axis cameras and key equipment upgrades. The city commission also approved tethered drones that fly with a push of a button, and the department spent nearly $50,000 to upgrade its license plate reader system to boost public safety.
