  • Kettering’s annual TreeFEST saw volunteers and city staff plant 135 trees at Gentile Nature Park (including a special white oak from America250) yesterday. A historical marker honoring WWII Air Force ace Capt. Dominic Gentile was also unveiled.  Dayton Daily News
  • WYSO welcomed community members today at its open house at the Historic Union Schoolhouse (built in 1872) in Yellow Springs; the station showed off its new facility funded by a $20M investment that included a contribution from comedian Dave Chappelle and featured tours, a live DJ, and local art.  Dayton 24/7 Now

  • At The Last Queen in Enon, owners Adrian and Maggie Shergill transform the pub once a month into a high tea venue serving finger sandwiches, scones, desserts, and British tea—tickets for the next event on May 10 at 3:30 p.m. offer a taste of British charm.  Dayton Daily News

  • The inaugural Montgomery County Arts Forum was held at Sinclair Community College on Monday, Apr. 13, drawing over 200 leaders who discussed arts funding and inclusion.   • Crews begin work at 8 a.m. Monday, April 20 on Siebenthaler Avenue and Catalpa Drive in Harrison Twp., causing traffic delays. Motorists should use caution and consider alternate routes until the project is finished.  Dayton Daily News
  • On April 17, activists from Veterans for Peace set up an Eyes of a Child installation with schoolbags and portraits memorializing 100+ children killed in Iran outside Rep. Mike Turner's West Third Street office, urging him to shift military funds to local healthcare and education.  Dayton Daily News
  • Road crews in Montgomery, Warren, Greene, Clark, and Champaign counties are working on construction projects that cause ramp closures, lane shifts, and detours for drivers. Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow posted signs plus be alert to intermittent overnight restrictions through 2026.  Dayton Daily News

  • Health care analysts say Ohio's Medicaid program will lose about $33 billion over the next decade due to HR 1 — a federal bill reducing provider taxes. State lawmakers in Dayton will need to decide soon how to adjust tax policies and payments to sustain hospital services.  Dayton Daily News
