- ➤ On Thursday, Apr. 16, a group of ducklings became trapped in a stormwater drain at Austin Landing near Kroger after employees spotted a crying duck; local wildlife responder Erica Miller said Logan Tinney crawled 115 feet through the drain to rescue them + reunite them with their mother. - ➤ Dayton Metro Library’s downtown branch (215 E. Third St.) will remain closed through the weekend for HVAC repairs due to high temperatures and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Monday. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Ohio's consumer watchdog office said the planned purchase of AES Ohio's parent company is not expected to raise rates immediately but may lead to long-term hikes as it monitors the change of ownership filed on April 10 at PUCO. - ➤ Alpha School, a private K-12 network, is using an AI-based 2Hour Learning model — replacing traditional teaching with accelerated core lessons and guided workshops. - ➤ The Air Force flew Anduril’s YFQ-44A aircraft on Thursday, Apr. 16 from Edwards Air Force Base in a key test of autonomous flight that marked an early step before production begins at the new Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio.
