  • Air Force Materiel Command will host a job fair at the Wright State Student Union in Fairborn on May 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Job-seekers can pre-register and upload resumes by April 26 for a chance to be considered for on-site interviews + follow-up days.  Dayton Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the local high school will reopen after heavy rain overwhelmed its roof drain — officials confirmed repairs were completed following the storm.  WHIO-TV
  • Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Ohio Education Director Stephen D. Dackin announced a new Statewide Attendance Dashboard to track school attendance trends and chronic absenteeism (missing at least 10% of required school hours) across districts.   • Sinclair Community College will honor 84 high school students earning an associate degree today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Building 12 (they participated in the College Credit Plus program). The graduates come from 33 partner schools and represent 15 degree programs.  Dayton Daily News
  • Montgomery County Environmental Services launched the 2026 Recycled Art Contest for kindergarten through 12th grade students to create sculptures from recycled materials.
