COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Kipper, a wallaby owned by vet tech professor Carolyn Reno, escaped from Sinclair Community College’s campus on Friday, Apr. 10 in Dayton and was recaptured around 9:35 a.m. (Sinclair spokesperson Scott Marshall confirmed the incident), and the pet will resume its role in teaching vet tech students.  Dayton Daily News
  • Five River MetroParks reminded visitors to follow parking rules during prom photo season. MetroPark rangers will regulate parking at Cox Arboretum at 2:30 p.m., and visitors must avoid parking on the grass (professional photographers need a permit) to uphold Leave No Trace Principles.  Dayton Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Country music artist Emily Ann Roberts will headline a 7 p.m. concert on Aug. 16 at Miami County Fair Grandstands at 650 N. County Road 25A, with Ohio native Ian Harrison opening the show. The fair runs from Aug. 14 to Aug. 20 with general admission at $25.  Dayton Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Road crews will begin multiple construction projects in Montgomery, Warren, Greene, Champaign and Clark counties starting Monday, Apr. 13, which will cause lane restrictions, ramp closures and detours over the coming months. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow posted signs.  Dayton Daily News
  • A water main break led village officials to issue a boil advisory for part of Montgomery County that remains in effect until further notice. Residents are urged to follow local guidelines to use safe water.  WHIO-TV
