- ➤ A food drive organized by 7 Circle of Kindness will take place this Saturday, April 12, at Walmart stores on Miller Lane and Wilmington Pike in Sugarcreek Township to collect food for families in need. Miami Valley Meals—a local non-profit that serves up to 4,300 meals a week—expects an increase in need and is accepting donations of rice, beans, pasta and canned vegetables. WHIO-TV

- ➤ The Schockman Lumber Group acquired the 165-year-old Requarth Lumber Company earlier this month and took over its lumber operations on Monument Avenue while the Requarth family continues to own the building—keeping the name and legacy intact. The company, which sold lumber to the Wright brothers and survived the 1913 flood, will continue to serve construction customers. WYSO

- ➤ A 48-year-old man named Christopher Dowtin is accused of stealing over $32 million in wire fraud after he took tax refund checks to a Morgan Stanley office in Beavercreek—where staff alerted the Secret Service and IRS—and now faces charges for wire fraud and theft of public money. WHIO-TV
- ➤ Three people were in custody after a late-night police pursuit that spanned multiple counties—initiated around 11:45 p.m. by Columbus Police Department after chasing an allegedly stolen vehicle—and no injuries or property damage were reported. WDTN

- ➤ Hiring Our Heroes will host a free two-day career event for military spouses at Wright State University at 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy in Dayton on April 23—April 24 with sessions running from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the first day and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the second day.
