Montgomery County Animal Resource Center in Dayton said it is critically over capacity and will only accept dogs with a court order—its shelter, built for 80 dogs but holding 108, urgently needs help from adopters, fosters and rescues.

A crash happened in Trotwood yesterday at 9:54 a.m.—one person was taken to the hospital and details on injuries were not available.
Police and EMS responded after a vehicle crashed into a Dayton home on Xenia Ave and Boltin Street at 3:12 a.m. on April 1st; officials did not confirm how many people were involved.

A 46-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot and involved in a crash in Dayton early Tuesday — detectives are investigating what led to the incident.
A family is demanding answers after 25-year-old Christian Black died at Montgomery County Jail following his March 23 arrest for receiving stolen property and obstructing official business, as he suffered health problems and a violent struggle with staff that led to his cardiac arrest while he waited for an ambulance, and his death adds to several recent in-custody fatalities while an autopsy remains pending.

Three area teenagers are competing for Ohio Youth of the Year, an award by the Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Club for teens who keep a 2.5 GPA and participate in club activities.
Ke’mya Lam, a junior staff member at the Dayton club, and two others must submit essays, letters, & recommendations to earn a scholarship award.

Ohio officials remind Dayton residents that to vote in the May primary election they must update their registration by April 7—early in-person voting will begin on April 8, and voters will choose local candidates and decide on Issue 2 on Election Day.
