- ➤ An area university began removing debris and asbestos from the 121-year-old Chaminade Hall on March 17—this building once housed the School of Education and Health Sciences until 2014—in preparation for demolition after spring graduation. Officials said rising maintenance costs and an outdated structure made renovation too expensive, and plans for new construction and outdoor improvements will be developed before the start of next academic year.
