  • A Miami Valley Career Technology Center bus was pulled over on I-70 today after passengers reported the driver swerved and used her phone during a field trip to Columbus—officials replaced the driver after ensuring student safety.  WHIO-TV

  • Dunkin' franchisee Gilligan Company will open a second location before July 1 in a 1,500 square foot space at 2730 N. Fairfield Road in Beavercreek—located in a strip center across from The Mall at Fairfield Commons—with kiosks for ordering and a mobile order pick up area but no drive-thru.  Dayton Daily News

  • A Trotwood man has been charged with fatally shooting 38 year old Marquia Hunter outside an apartment on City View Terrace late Sunday night, and police booked him into Montgomery County Jail on Monday after a 911 call reported gunfire amid a domestic dispute.  Dayton Daily News

  • Dayton’s summer concert season will run from May through September at five outdoor venues including the Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Levitt Pavilion downtown, the Pavilion at RiverScape MetroPark, and Stubbs Park Amphitheater in Centerville — each offering free and ticketed shows across diverse music genres.  Dayton Convention & Visitors Bureau

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kettering City School District leaders are holding a public meeting today at 6 p.m. at Fairmont High School’s recital hall on Shroyer Road to gather input on a $406 million plan to replace 10 older school buildings with modern facilities—this change aims to improve efficiency and better serve around 7,500 students. District officials said design work will begin next year with construction starting in 2029 and a levy planned for May 2026.  WYSO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A superload is passing through Fairborn and Beavercreek Township today and will cause road closures on Ohio 444, Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Trebein Road, and Dayton-Xenia Road as Edwards Moving and Rigging escorts an electric transformer from 430 E. Xenia Drive to an AES substation. Law enforcement will accompany the load and drivers are urged to use alternate routes during the three to four hour move.  Dayton Daily News
  • Wright-Patterson Air Force Base acknowledged Tuesday that recent PFAS testing in its drinking water exceeded EPA’s new maximum contaminant level and it will install upgraded treatment systems pending funding—part of more than $61 million in environmental efforts since 2014. The base is working with community partners to address water quality concerns, although full public notification will begin in 2027.  Dayton Daily News

  • Wright State baseball will host the Air Force Academy on Tuesday, March 25 at Nischwitz Stadium for the Stars, Stripes, Flight Classic. The game will honor veterans with a T-shirt giveaway, food truck and a joint first pitch at 5 p.m. by Wright State President Sue Edwards + Col.
