  • The Foodbank will host a week-long drive from Mar. 8 to Mar. 14 and will ask Dayton residents to donate cooking oils, spices, and condiments to help enhance meal preparation.   • Dayton Humane Society agents removed 137 animals from a home on Thursday after reports of neglect showed severe infestations and poor care — a court hearing is set for March 17 to decide permanent custody.  Dayton Daily News

  • Tech companies signed an agreement Wednesday to invest in power infrastructure upgrades and negotiate tailored rate structures with utilities to shield local consumers from rising bills amid expanding data centers in Ohio — Sen.   • Sidharth Nair, a seventh grader from Watts Middle School in Centerville, won the Wright State University Regional Spelling Bee on March 6 at the Dayton Campus (Apollo Room) and will compete at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in May.  Wright State University
  • University of Dayton will require current students to wear wristbands for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebration on south campus — outside guests will not be allowed.
