- ➤ On November 19, OSHP honored Cassidy Collins in Lebanon for stopping a swaying semi during his father’s medical emergency; he climbed out of the sleeper cab, downshifted the engine, applied brakes and performed CPR before medics took his father to hospital where he fully recovered. WHIO-TV
- ➤ The Christian Life Center announced a celebration of life for Ashley Flynn at 4 p.m. Sunday at 3489 Little York Road in Bethel Twp (Flynn, a 37-year-old educator, coach, and wife, was fatally shot early Monday during a reported burglary at her Tipp City home). Dayton Daily News

- ➤ United Irish of Dayton has announced headliners for Dayton Celtic Festival at Riverscape from July 24-26 (including Gaelic Storm, The Elders, Socks in the Frying Pan, The Drowsy Lads, Davy Holt, and Bastard Bearded Irishmen) set to bring lively Irish music and modern rock to downtown. - ➤ On Feb. 10, the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel said Dayton ratepayers and other Ohio consumers paid $189 million for coal plants that cost more to run than the power they produced, and urged regulators to seek refunds for the alleged unlawful charges; regulators are now reviewing the filings from OVEC. - ➤ Legrand will file its job creation report with the state by March 1 following the recent $42M sale of its Union distribution center. The report will measure progress on a commitment to create 261 full-time jobs and add $10.3 million in annual payroll. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Hundreds attended the Go Red for Women luncheon at the Marriott at the University of Dayton on Thursday to raise awareness of heart disease, the top killer of women. - ➤ A new state behavioral health hospital is planned in Trotwood and Harrison Township to treat severe mental illness and create 500 jobs; construction will begin this spring after the January land purchase.
