  • The Westwood Rising Experience interactive exhibit is hosted at Dayton Metro Library West Branch through Feb. 28 and offers community feedback opportunities plus workshops on housing, health and youth empowerment while a closing ceremony with local dignitaries is scheduled for Feb. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m.  WYSO
  • On Feb. 15, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office hosted a Galentine's event for group home girls in Harrison Township featuring hair, nails, makeup, movies and goodie bags. Detective Tori Renner said the celebration gave the girls a day to feel special and supported.  Dayton 24/7 Now

  • Organizers announced the Dayton Air Show will take place this weekend at the Dayton International Airport and feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in high-flying displays.  Dayton 24/7 Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Supporters signed an outgrant license today to build a $38M STEM center on 16 acres near the museum at Wright-Patterson AFB. Fundraising via the Dayton Foundation will soon launch to support plans that create a pipeline for future scientific and technical careers.  Dayton Daily News

  • Drivers in Dayton face multiple road updates including lane shifts and detours on I-75, SR 48, US-35 and U.S. 68. Crews in Montgomery, Warren, Greene and Champaign counties are adjusting traffic flows (through Spring 2026 and early 2027) to complete the improvements.  Dayton Daily News
  • Local GOP Senator Lang, undergoing treatment for stage four colorectal cancer, has proposed S.B. 249 to allow over-the-counter ivermectin at local pharmacies; the bill requires fact sheets, imposes an 18+ age limit + legal protections for pharmacists and prescribers.  Dayton Daily News
  • Crews will close West Schantz Avenue between South Patterson Boulevard and Far Hills Avenue today for water main repairs, affecting both morning and evening commutes. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.  WHIO-TV
