BUSINESS NEWS

  • Stratacache, a Dayton-based digital signage company, will use DOD investment to build microLED displays at its 1.2 million sqft facility in Eugene (its primary U.S. site for the technology) to support advanced defense and commercial projects.  Dayton Daily News
  • Dillard’s will open a new store in Beavercreek next month at the Mall at Fairfield Commons (the former Macy’s location), with a soft opening on March 14 and a grand opening on March 19. The retailer plans to hire about 100 employees including 30 full-time sales associates.  WHIO-TV
  • U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno and former senator Sherrod Brown voiced concerns about Fuyao amid federal inquiries into labor practices of Chinese-owned auto glass companies. Fuyao (employing over 3,000 local workers) said it has complied with legal standards after a summer raid while lawmakers review competing practices.  Dayton Daily News

  • The Beaver’s Den, a student-run store at Beavercreek High School, will open on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Students managed every phase of development and partnered with Creek Industries (a vocational program for students with special needs) to offer spirit wear and school supplies while gaining hands-on business experience.  WHIO-TV
  • Oakwood Schools faces a forecast spending gap in 2027 as rising costs for utilities, goods, health insurance, and wages push the district to consider asking voters for a new operating levy. Officials will decide funding measures after reviewing the year-end cash balance.  Dayton Daily News

  • Montgomery County leaders will shift the Dayton job center’s programs to temporary sites this spring to improve access to job assistance for residents. The move comes as part of efforts to enhance local employment services.  Dayton Daily News
