  • Scott McGohan launched One Morning, a new mental health broker aimed at helping employers connect workers with resources (including a web and mobile app) after retiring from his family business in spring 2024. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wright State University has joined U.S. Space Command's academic engagement enterprise to offer students and professionals exclusive access to research, training, and events.   • Jefferson Twp. Local Schools will end high school busing and bus services for grades K-8 living under two miles from school next year to trim deficit spending (the board may revisit the decision to boost staff raises).  Dayton Daily News
  • Wright State University earned full membership in U.S. Space Command’s Academic Engagement Enterprise, making it the third Ohio institution among 89 nationwide. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Melting snow is carrying leftover de-icing salt into local waterways, raising water treatment and wildlife concerns and may form ice dams that cause roof leaks; the City of Dayton now mixes salt brine with rock salt to reduce chloride, and roofing experts advise owners to contact professionals (for repairs).  Dayton 24/7 Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montgomery County Environmental Services will repair a water main break and replace a valve on the 1800 block of East David Road in Kettering today. Westbound lanes will close for construction, while eastbound lanes remain open and small vehicles must use a detour (via Jonathan Drive to Tangent Drive).  WHIO-TV
  • The state took ownership of the Hara Arena site last month and plans to convert it into a 270,000 sqft behavioral health hospital.
