- ➤ Carr Drive Investments LLC (linked to Arcanum) purchased the former IMI Precision Engineering plant at 325 Carr Drive in Brookville for $1.2M on Dec. 29, according to Montgomery County records. The 62,000 sqft facility, built in 1973, once employed 109 workers. Dayton Daily News
- ➤ Boro Blends, a Springboro smoothie and juice bar, reopened Jan. 2 with a new look, new hours, and a redesigned kids corner. Owner Kelly Murray now opens the shop 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays (8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends) to serve the active community. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Centerville and the Centerville Arts Commission have launched a call for artists for the Ohio at the Crossroads exhibit that celebrates the nation’s 250th Anniversary and Ohio’s cultural contributions. The entry form opened Jan. 5 and submissions are open until May 3, with the exhibit on display all July. WHIO-TV

- ➤ Ohio’s minimum wage increased to $11 an hour with a 30-cent rise meant to help workers cope with rising prices. Experts say the change remains insufficient for Dayton living costs — a full-time adult would require more than $19 an hour, and local businesses report little negative impact. WHIO-TV
- ➤ City officials approved a $500,000 grant to Windsor Companies and the Entrepreneurs’ Center for upgrades to the historic Deneau building at 40 W. Fourth St. to create affordable office space for downtown entrepreneurs; the project will boost local job creation and keep growth downtown. Dayton Daily News

- ➤ Daybreak, the nonprofit running the only emergency youth shelter in the region, faces a risk of losing up to $1.6M in federal funds as HUD reduces permanent housing awards. - ➤ On Monday, local, state, and federal leaders and business members formed the Downtown Dayton Security Working Group to boost safety amid growing investments downtown and increased calls for service near the RTA hub.
