Wood Carving for Adults

About this event

Wood Carving with Chuck Adult class series Monday Evenings: October 12th, 19th, 22nd and November 2nd 6:30pm- 8pm Taught by wood carving artist, Chuck Duerre Wood Carving is a centuries old skill that has been employed to create not only fun caricatures and toys for children, but also useful household items such as spoons and crochet hooks. Students will be introduced to basic carving skills, sharpening, and safety techniques. For the first lesson, we will begin with a simple project, carved from basswood. This is inspired by Doug Linker’s 1x1 series. We should be able to finish this our first night, and if not, students can take it home and finish on their own. In this class series, participants will develop a fun skill that you can do almost anywhere.
